The architecture of the working waterfront now surrounds every major coastal city, it is an inseparable part of our environment. I have always wanted to document this aspect of our landscape and have chosen to begin this new portfolio with Charleston.
Last December, I spent five days in a 13-foot boat filming the waterfront of Charleston. After shooting 100-rolls of film, and 1200 exposures later, I have edited the images down to a dozen or so handmade black and white photographs that will be on display along with my traditional sailing and seascape photographs.
