In pursuit of artistic freedom, Stanka left the commercial world in 1988. She established a professional art studio, concentrating her efforts on painting landscapes and figures.
Her studio work led to portrait commissions, international awards, and inclusion in several corporate collections throughout the Midwest. These collections include the Cleveland Clinic, University Hospitals, and Key Corporation.
Since 2009, Stanka’s focus has been to develop her personal figurative work. Most recently, she has been exploring sfumato, an old master technique involving opaque glazing.
